Web Developer Resumes

Each curriculum track at Lambda is meant to prepare students to apply to a job within their industry of study. Resumes for each track vary in regards to industry standards for content and formatting. Web Developer resumes need to link to an online portfolio or deployed sites highlighting projects with a clear purpose and description. Web Dev focused resumes can include:

 A summary (optional)

To highlight your background and accomplishments. If you have made any Open Source contributions, you can include them here. This should be tailored towards the position you are applying for, and only needs to be 2-3 sentences.

A skills and tools section

Separated by the different types of skillskets and technologies you have learned. Subsections can be divided by “frameworks”, “programming languages”, and “platforms”. Skills you may include on your resume: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Redux, Authentication, etc.

A projects section

Formatted in such a way that highlights what the project focused on, while reflecting skills, responsibilities and accomplishments developed by working on the project. For example:

Project Title (hyperlink to deployed project)

One sentence to describe what the project does.
 Tech | Tech | Tech | Tech

  • Sentence describing deadline (# of weeks), how many # on the team.
  • “Solely responsible for…” describe what were your contributions and responsibilities
  • Sentence describing how you used a technology
  • GitHub Repo/Frontend/Backend link (optional)
An employment or experience section

Focused on the roles you have served in that highlight the accomplishments, responsibilities and skills related to the position you’re applying for.

An education section

That includes Lambda School with “Full Stack Web Development” as your career track. Include any previous schooling as well. If you have any certifications, you can turn this into an “Education and Training” section.

With a web developer tailored resume ready to go, you can search for job openings with titles like:
