Declining an Offer
Accepting or declining an offer is your choice. You do not have to accept an offer you are not interested in, but there are ways to graciously decline that help you maintain a positive interaction with the company. You never know if there will be future opportunities you’ll want, so take the following steps to decline the offer:

Communicate
Do not ghost on a company at any stage! Though it may be easier to ignore the offer and disappear, communicate to the company you will not be accepting. Find templates here for withdrawing professionally.

Express gratitude
Companies spend a lot of resources (money and time) to interview each candidate; make sure they know that you appreciate their time and consideration.

Keep Lambda School in the loop
If you are declining an offer from a hiring partner, give the Lambda School staff member who connected you to the opportunity a heads up. Letting Lambda School know why you’re declining can help us support other students who may interview with the company.
